Douro Superior · Foz Côa
Wines carved by stone and time
On the high plateau of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, between the Côa Valley rock engravings and the terraces of the Douro Superior, our vines grow in schist soils. This is a land of extremes — scorching summers, harsh winters — that lends our wines an unmistakable minerality and intensity.
- Schist Soils
- Roots plunge into the fractured rock in search of water and minerals, giving structure and depth.
- Patchwork Terraces
- Centuries-old terraces draw the landscape into a patchwork quilt of vine, almond and olive.
- Almond & Olive
- Among the vines, almond and olive trees share the terroir and mark the rhythm of the seasons.
- Ribeira da Teja
- The Teja stream valley tempers the climate and gives our cooperative its name and soul.
